Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum is able to keep floors clean enough to decrease the frequency with which you'll need to manually vacuum. Look for one that offers an easy navigation, can clean corners and stairs, and has a large dust bin that needs emptying only every few times.

There are also models that mop and charge on their own which can be essential for those who have children or pets. A majority of the top performers in our tests have good obstacles to avoid.
1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO
The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling the i3 EVO are both identical robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is an excellent option for those looking for a an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but are willing to manually empty the robot's dustbin when it is full.
Both robots do well picking up surface debris on hard floors and carpets, and they're excellent at maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ doesn't feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we test. It may get stuck on power cords and socks and have trouble moving between different surfaces like hardwood and rug.
iRobot suggests cleaning up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other items it might encounter. It's also a good idea to keep the dustbin and filter clean so they do not become blocked by dirt. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or the battery is empty, it returns to its docking station and automatically empties its debris into the station's external dustbin, and then continues cleaning the area where it began. Battery life is about an hour-and-a-half of continuous use. It takes about three hours to fully charge.
2. Roomba from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model of the flagship line from iRobot and comes with all the latest features. It's self-charging, self-navigating and the most crucial feature of all -- it comes with a self-emptying dustbin that eliminates one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, which allows it to identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and control your robot with voice or through the app.
In robotvacuummops.com testing the i7+ was quicker and more maneuverable than our top choice, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surface types including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin, which removes major maintenance sources and reduces recurring cost.
We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning session and move around the room, and even vacuum an area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. After being connected, to speak commands to the i7+, such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world full of vacuums that are cordless and are like minivans and buses, this tiny Dyson model feels like a sports car. It is powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, but also small enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system captures allergens and expels cleaner air back into your home. Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpet to suck up large particles and fine dust. It comes with three suction modes to suit the task that is being completed. It quickly switches from floor vac to handheld vacuum, and then back to floor.
This model also has a dock that charges to 100% in 3.5 hours and offers an easy access to two attachments as well as a clip for a wand. This is a big improvement over earlier Dysons, that require a long charge and are a pain to store.
The V10's biggest drawback is its limited run time. As CR's tests have shown, its claims to run up to 60 minutes are a bit misleading. This is a typical, not an exceptional, time to run a battery-powered cordless vac. This is still enough to get rid of the majority of a typical-sized home however, it's not enough to clean every spot (though the second time around usually does the trick). However, this model doesn't have its benefits It's lighter and more maneuverable than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming efficiency is superior on carpets with a low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums the 694 is an affordable model that's an excellent choice for people who don't want to invest too much on a robotic. It's capable of sucking up a variety of kinds of debris in our testing, and it often goes over the same areas several times to get a really thorough clean. Its flat front end helps it reach into corners and along the edges of walls and walls, which is a nice feature.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it's not equipped with the mapping capability of more sophisticated models such as our top selections and the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. It may get stuck on phone cords or low furniture and will often run out of power before returning to its original location.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 in that it has less parts that require regular cleaning, comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtration system, incurs lower cost of recurring costs and has more advanced automation abilities and is able to better maneuver itself. It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.
The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery longevity than the Roomba 694. It also comes with physical boundaries strips and can be controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It also feels better-built and has a stronger motor, and is able to perform better on floors that are bare and low-pile carpet, while offering a wider range of features for automation.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a well-known brand in the field of home electronics. It's no surprise, then, that they are also among the top manufacturers of robot vacuums and mop. Their Jet Bot AI+ is equipped with cutting-edge onboard technology for navigation and obstacles avoidance.
The app offers a variety of options to customize your robotic cleaner, such as virtual barriers, mopping water levels and behavior customization docking frequency settings and more. It's simple to comprehend and user-friendly, as is the case with other Samsung devices.
In our tests of the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, cleaning up 86 percent of it. It didn't do very well in avoiding taller objects like cords or socks. This was disappointing. It's also more expensive than other models we've tested and this could be a problem for some shoppers.
The smart vacuum has an onboard camera that you can access via the app. You can also set up a live streaming from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to check in on pets or the kids if you're away from home. The filter and the dustbin can be cleaned for an easy, quick clean-up. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with an automatic clean station which helps to keep the bin clean and optimizes suction power.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Black and Decker robots have been developed specifically for flooring made of hard wood. The robots have an extra wide cleaning path, as well as dust bins that are 2X larger than the competition. This lets them clean the area for longer. In addition, they have two side sweepers that clean around edges and corners. The POWERSERIES Extreme model comes with AutoSense technology, which detects the presence of surface litter or embedded dirt and automatically adjusts its power level. The vacuum also comes with an app that lets you to view a virtual map, control functions, and schedules. You can also check the status of the vacuum and then send it to the dock for charging with the click of a button. The app allows you to customize the LED lights on the top of the vacuum to discern where it is focusing or if it has gotten stuck.
The app also makes it simple to steer the robot manually in the event of need. My living room rug, for example, has a darkly-colored border which could cause a problem for other robots. However, the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border, without registering it as an incline. The ability to program a daily cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving convenience.
